Explore the interdisciplinary, high-demand field of new media, digital design, and media studies, including 3D modeling, animation, illustration, graphic design, motion graphics, photography, UX/UI design, and video skills to create a comprehensive portfolio. This two-year program can be completed entirely online, enabling students to seek immediate employment or transfer to a four-year college to earn their degree.

This project-based certificate program focuses on creating an accessible human-centered design system and interaction design for cross-platform applications. Students will gain experience in researching, analyzing usability data, prototyping, and user testing. Upon successful completion of the program, students will have extensive websites and mobile app high-fidelity prototypes in their design portfolio to demonstrate advanced UX design skills.

Students who earn their New Media and Digital Design degree from Pierce College can transfer directly to Highline College or Evergreen State College. Students wishing to transfer to another four-year program are advised to work closely with their academic advisor to map out additional requirements for an AA-DTA in New Media and Digital Design degree.
